“Division is as harmful as poison for stability of the country. Talking about ethnic issues and provoking one province against another is not helping anyone to reach positive goals,” Abdullah said at council of ministers meeting on Monday.
He said divisions and differences among the people will only benefit the enemies of the country, calling on people to preserve unity.
This comes a day after, Hekmatyar said at a gathering in Khost province that some eastern parts of the country have less of a share in the government compared to Panjshir, Bamiyan and Daikundi provinces.
He also said that one of the issue in front of the government is existence of sovereign islands of power at ministries, departments and provincial levels in the country. “This trend must come to an end,” Hekmatyar said.
