IEA warns Pakistan against repeating airstrikes which left 8 dead
The Islamic Emirate said Monday that Pakistan had carried out airstrikes in the early hours of the morning, which left eight people dead in Paktika and Khost provinces.
According to a statement issued by the IEA, the airstrikes took place at about 3am in the Barmal district in Khost province and Sepira district in Paktika province.
Six people were killed in Paktika, including three women and three children, and another two women were killed in Khost.
The IEA said it was targeting a man named Abdullah Shah. However, Shah is in Pakistan at the moment, the IEA claimed adding that there is a tribe living on both sides of the border and cross between the two countries daily.
IEA spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the person Pakistan is targeting is Commander Abdullah Shah. Mujahid also released a video to the media.
“This commander exists in Waziristan, which Pakistani forces do not see him there, but under the pretext attacking Afghanistan’s territory,” Mujahid said.
The Islamic Emirate has strongly condemned the airstrikes and said it is a “reckless violation” of Afghanistan’s territory.
The IEA also cautioned Pakistan against carrying out such attacks saying they have a “long experience of freedom struggle against the superpowers of the world.”
The IEA also called on the people of Pakistan and the new civilian government to stop some army generals from engaging in action against Afghanistan - as they have done for over 20 years - thereby souring relations between the two nations.
According to the IEA, Pakistan should not blame Afghanistan for the lack of control, incompetence and problems in its own territory, because such incidents can have very bad consequences that cannot be controlled by Pakistan.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not allow anyone to harm anyone's security by using the territory of Afghanistan.
On Sunday, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that “terrorism” in the South Asian country was being conducted mostly from Afghanistan.
The comment came a day after militants killed seven Pakistan Army soldiers in Waziristan in the northwest of the country.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Islamic Emirate of not cracking down on militant groups in Afghanistan.
However, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has repeatedly denied these allegations and says they will not allow any militant group to pose a threat to another country from Afghanistan.
On Saturday, seven Pakistan Army soldiers, including two officers, were killed when militants rammed an explosives-laden truck into a security forces’ checkpost in Mir Ali.
The special representatives of China, Iran, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and India met on Saturday with Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on the sidelines of the 6th Moscow Format meeting, said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman for the ministry.
Takal said in a statement that bilateral political relations and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and the region's countries were discussed in these meetings.
Muttaqi stated that Afghanistan's security situation is reliable and its security is in the interest of all countries in the region.
He emphasized the development of economic, commercial and investment cooperation between Afghanistan and related countries.
The envoys, meanwhile, stressed increasing interaction and all-round cooperation with Afghanistan and described the situation in Afghanistan as reliable.
The United States will provide nearly $157 million in new humanitarian assistance to support populations affected by conflict in Lebanon and the region, the State Department said in a statement on Friday.
"This funding will address new and existing needs of internally displaced persons and refugee populations inside Lebanon and the communities that host them. The assistance will also support those fleeing to neighboring Syria," the State Department said.

Muttaqi meets Lavrov in Moscow, hopes for expansion of diplomatic ties
He mentioned the political and economic developments between Afghanistan and regional countries and expressed hope that the level of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Islamic Emirate will increase.
Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan.
The two sides discussed bilateral political and economic relations and regional issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) said in a statement on Saturday.
Muttaqi considered the Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan of special importance for the Afghan government and requested that it become a mechanism for developing cooperation between Afghanistan and regional countries.
He mentioned the political and economic developments between Afghanistan and regional countries and expressed hope that the level of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Islamic Emirate will increase.
Muttaqi also talked about security and stability in Afghanistan, saying that security has made conditions suitable for investment in Afghanistan.
According to the Foreign Ministry’s statement, Lavrov emphasized on the expansion of his country's relations with Afghanistan in the political and economic fields, adding that Russian companies are interested in investing in agriculture, mining and transport sectors in Afghanistan.
He also pointed to Afghanistan's position in the wake of recent developments in the region and the world, saying that Afghanistan can play an important role in the region's economic connectivity.
