Eight Afghan Local Police (ALP) were killed mysteriously in southern Zabul province of Afghanistan, a security source said on Saturday.
On the condition of anonymity a security source said to Ariana News that the incident has occurred on Friday in Bagh area of Arghandab district where the eight ALPs were found dead.
The source added that an insider attack is suspected therefore a delegation has arrived to Qalat to investigate the incident.
Arghandab district governor Mohmand Nasratyar confirmed the incident saying details will be shared with media outlets later.
At the same time provincial police spokesman Fawad Askari said a number of police have been killed in an incident and a delegation has been deployed to the area to investigate and find out the reason and the number of causalities.
Taliban group claimed the responsibility of the attack saying seven police were killed and three others were arrested by their militants.
