5 wounded in Jalalabad Blast

5 were injured in an explosion in Angor Bagh Street of Jalalabad city of Nangahar province, said an official on condition of anonymity.

The source added that 2 policemen including a child and 2 civilians were injured in the incident.

Ahmad Zia Abdul Zai, spokesman of Nangahar province said that police was the target of this explosion.

Dozens of casualties reported after powerful explosion rocks Ghor city

A powerful explosion in central Ghor province has killed or wounded at least 20 people, the Afghan Ministry of Interior confirmed Sunday. 

However, local officials told Ariana News that the casualty toll was much higher. They say as many as 60 people have been killed or wounded. 

The explosion happened at about 11.30 am local time in the city of Feroz Koh. 

Sources said the explosion, possibly a car bomb, was detonated close to the Ghor police headquarters. 

Widespread damage was also done to buildings in the vicinity.

Grenade attack on wedding in Badakhshan injures 15

A hand grenade attack on a wedding party wounded at least 15 people in Badakhshan province, provincial police confirmed Friday.

Sanaullah Rohani, a spokesman for Badakhshan police, told Ariana News that the incident occurred at around 10:30 pm Thursday in Batash village in PD^7 of Faizabad city, the capital of the province.

Rohani stated that 15 civilians were injured when an unknown attacker threw one hand grenade into the ceremony.

He added that the culprit succeeded to flee the area.

He added, so far, the motive behind the attack is not determined, but investigations are underway.

No group or individual, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Eight killed in explosion targeting Laghman provincial governor

Eight people, including civilians, were killed in an explosion on Monday in Laghman when the provincial governor’s convoy came under attack. 

The incident happened early Monday in the provincial capital Mehtarlam when a roadside IED was detonated as Governor Rahmatullah Yaramal drove by. 

Provincial officials confirmed the incident and said Yaramal sustained only slight injuries. 

A spokesman for the Laghman governor, Asadullah Dawlatzai, said seven people had been injured and eight killed. 

He said among the dead were four security force members and four civilians, adding that most of the wounded were civilians. 

Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said the four security force members killed had been Yaramal’s bodyguards.
