“On Wednesday evening, fourteen people including elders arrived and 18 more people were just arrived to the City of Sar-e Pul,” said provincial governor spokesman, Zabihullah Amani.
According to officials and freed villagers, at least 52 people including women and children were killed during a joint attack, carried out by the Taliban and Islamic State militants in Mirza Olang village, situated in the Sayad district of Sar-e Pul province.
President Ashraf Ghani condemned the killings. He promised that Afghan forces will take “the revenge” of the attack.
“Additional air and ground forces have been deployed to the area and the commanders are busy planning to recapture the area,” added Mr. Amani.
Officials say that the government has provided survival aids to as many as 475 families displaced as from the valley which is under the Taliban control now.
