14 militants including two key members killed in Faryab

14 Taliban militants including two key members killed, 17 injured as the Afghan forces launched a joint clearance operation in Faryab, Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan announced on Sunday.

According to the statement during a joint military operations by the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP) several villages of Qisar district in Faryab province were cleared.

The security situation of the district is expected to improve as purportedly the group was involved in many terrorist activities in Faryab.

Faryab is among the relatively volatile provinces in north of Afghanistan where the anti-government militants are trying to take the control of its key districts by performing suicide attacks, coordinated attacks and planting mines.
