At least 13 policemen were killed and 55 others including 20 civilians wounded as Taliban suicide bombers hit provincial police HQ of Baghlan province, the Afghan Interior Ministry said.
A group of suicide bombers attacked police headquarter of Baghlan province at around 12 pm on Sunday.
Initially, a suicide car bomber detonated himself at the gate of the building and following that several attackers entered into the headquarter.
Nearly seven hours after the attack, the interior ministry said in a statement that all eight attackers were killed by police special forces.
The interior ministry further said that 13 policemen were killed and 35 others injured in the attack. The statement added that 20 civilians were also injured in the attack.
President Ashraf Ghani condemned in the strongest terms the attack and called it a terror act.
The Taliban insurgent group claimed responsibility for the attack.
