10 Taliban militants were killed after Afghan army and police forces conducted a joint operation in Siyah Gird district of Parwan, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement.
As stated in the statement, the operation was conducted last night by Afghan National Army and Public Order Police forces on a base of Taliban militants in Khishki valley of Siyahgird district.
The militants’ base was completely destroyed along with a huge amount of weapons and munitions belonging to the insurgents, the statement noted.
“The Taliban was using the hideout as center for plotting terroristic attacks in Siyah Gird district of Parwan”, the statement further noted.
Parwan situated in the north of Kabul is considered a relatively secure province but the Taliban insurgents occasionally launch some attacks and offensives against Afghan forces in some part of the province.
