Unknown Gunmen Kidnapped Foreign National in Kabul

A foreign national working for Agricultural, Irrigation and livestock Ministry was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in capital Kabul on Sunday afternoon, sources at MAIL told Ariana News.

The man was kidnapped in Karte Car, Police District 3 of Kabul city.

According to sources the abducted man was an adviser for the agriculture ministry and had been engaged on a gardening project.

Kabul Police Chief’s Spokesman also confirmed the incident, saying the man may be an African.

However, reports suggest, the man was an American citizen and working on a World Bank-affiliated project for the ministry of agriculture.

No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

This comes after a Finnish woman was kidnapped in Police district 7 of Kabul city last month. She was working for a Swedish NGO Operation Mercy and still being held hostage.
