Roadside Bomb Kills 11 Civilians in Helmand

A roadside bomb explosion late on Friday killed 11 civilians in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan.

Provincial governor spokesperson Omar Zwak said that the blast occurred last night around 7:30 pm in Mullah Abbas village in Nawa district.

He added that a vehicle which was carrying civilians from the capital Lashkar Gah to Nawa district was hit by a roadside bomb which left 11 people dead including women and children.

Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where civilians usually become a victim for the planted roadside bombs of the anti-government elements.
