After the passage of one year from the day that former High Peace Council Head Burhan Uddin Rabany was Martyred, the Afghan Government has not completed the investigation of his assassination.
An honor ceremony in the memory of Ustad Burhan Uddin Rabany, former Afghan President, leader of Jamyet Islami of Afghanistan, and former High Peace Council head marked the first anniversary of his martyrdom.
In the ceremony government officials, national representatives, Jehad and resistance leaders of Afghanistan, National Council members, Mujaheden and members of his family were present. His honorable service in the Jehad time was mentioned and individuals offered prayers for the martyrs’ souls especially for Ustad Burhan Uddin Rabany’s.
President Hamid Karzai gave a speech at the ceremony in the Loya Jirga tent, and spoke of memories of his jehad time with Mr. Rabany, saying that Ustad Rabany was among the Mujahed Leaders having close relations with all tribes of Afghanistan.
Ustad Sayyaf, a Jehadi leader, declared that Burhan Uddin Rabany’s assassination was a tragedy that terribly misused his trust in those who claimed to be seeking peace.
Ustad Mohammad Karim Khalili second deputy of President Hamid Karzai spoke about the personality of Ustad Rabany and spoke of his sincere efforts to bring peace to the country.
Salah Uddin Rabany, head of the High Peace Council and older Son of the martyer also spoke at ceremony. He said, “Serial killers should be identified and introduced to people.”
Ustad Burhan uddin Rabany was martyred while seeking a way to bring peace to Afghanistan. He was with two High Peace Council members when he left his house for a meeting and a suicide bomber who said he was a Taliban representative in order to meet with Mr. Rabany.
