If the killer of 16 Panjwae civilians was trialed outside Afghanistan, the Afghan Parliament will recognize the foreign troops as occupiers, a parliamentary probe team said on Thursday.
The investigation team said the innocent residents of Panjwae district of southern Kandahar province were intentionally killed by American soldiers. “Their investigations show that more than 15 soldiers contributed to brutally kill the civilians” the probe team said.
They added the transfer of the suspect to outside Afghanistan was contrary to the Afghanistan’s and international laws.
Besides the parliamentary probe team, President Karzai had also sent a team to review the Kandahar regretful incident but so far their results are not published.
This comes as some reports have been published about the transfer of the suspect soldier to Kuwait.
