The withdrawal of French Troops won’t affect Afghanistan’s security: Jan Kubis

In response to the France’s decision to withdraw its troops one year earlier than the scheduled withdrawal, the new UN representative to Afghanistan Jan Kubis refused the negative impacts on Afghanistan’s security after the withdrawal of French Troops.
Jan Kubis in his first visit to Mazar-e-Sharif City while meeting the local authorities said each day passes, the Afghans get their National Sovereignty and the security transition process would also institutionalize.
Mr. Kubis while emphasizing on United Nations continued cooperation in Afghanistan said the UN supports security transition process and would also further effort for the developments in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile Balkh Governor Atta Muhammad Noor said the role of United Nations is very important for the peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Mr. Kubis expressed these statements in response to the France’s suspension of all its military operations after the killing of four French troops by an Afghan soldier.
