Some WJ members declare Loya Jirga illegal

A number of Wolesi Jirga members stand firm on their previous views to declare traditional Loya Jirga illegal.
According to constitution, decisions on major issues are the duty of such a Loya Jirga which is organized in accordance with the constitution and any other source in this case does not have jurisdiction to decide, said MPs.
Holding of traditional Loya Jirga, are still among the topics for the discussions in the House of Representatives, reported by Fareeda Soma ATN reporter.
Administrative staffs of Wolesi Jirga said that so far, 171 members of Wolesi Jirga have filled the forms and decided to take part in traditional Loya Jirga.
On the other hand, Syed Hussein Alami Balkhi, Zahir Qadeer and Fauzia Kofi the MPs declaring the traditional Loya Jirga illegal wanted the President Karzai to consult with the National Council on major issues.
They also asked those MPs who scheduled to participate in traditional Loya Jirga to dispense their decisions and not to attend the Loya Jirga.
At last, Wolesi Jirga deputy Speaker Khalid Pashtoon decided to summon NDS advisor Dr. Rangeen Dadfar Spanta and Foreign Affairs Minister Zulmai Rasool on the next Parliament session to provide more information on how to hold the traditional Loya Jirga.
These statements come in such a time where preparations are continued for holding traditional Loya Jirga.
