Sixth Annual 2011 ATN award show held in Dubai

The sixth largest Ariana Television Network (ATN) award show and music festival held in Dubai.

Along with the best Afghan stars, the Afghan National Council members and government officials including the Deputy Ministers of Information and Culture participated in the festival. One of the features of this program was a film about Afghan music which was shown at the beginning of the program.

A short film about the life and career of the legend Afghan artist Prof. Sar-Ahang was also exhibited in the hall and he was named the King of Afghan music.

Eleven of the artists, who were nominated for the various categories by the Jury, were chosen the bests based on the votes of music fans.

Farhad Darya was named Best Male Artist of the Year and Muzdha Jamalzada as the Best Female Artist.

Farzana Naaz was named Best Young Female Artist and Mirwais Nijrabi was named Best Young Male Artist for the year 2011. The award for the best song of the year was presented to Shafeeq Mureed for his one of the best songs. Nazir Khara and Ghazal were named the Best Ghazal Singers, Zabih Istalifi the best local singer and Fawad Ramez was presented the award for his best video song.

Fayaz Hameed was also presented award for the best poetry of one of his songs that was written by Late Qahar Aasey. One of the songs of Latif Nangarhari was named the best patriotic songs of the year.

Hafiz Ali and Dewyani Ali were named the best duet singers of the year.

Tahir Shabab and Sideeq Shabab were presented the special award for their best performance. Ulfat Ahang, Safdar Tawakulli, Mrs. Hangama and Najeem Nawabi were named the best stars of Afghan Music and Proof. Gull Zaman was also presented a prize for his best performance.

Engineer Ehsanullah Bayat in his message to the award show said the show was aimed to value and honor the Afghan music and artists that represents the Afghan culture. He said Afghanistan is a big cultural country.

The ATN Acting Managing Director; Azizullah Arral during the ceremony said “as it was promised in the fifth annual ATN awards; the ATN local broadcast has also started from Balkh Province and in the near future, the local broadcasts will also begin from Kandahar, Herat and Nangarhar province. He said ATN is the leading supporter of the Afghan Art and Culture.

Din-Muhammad Mobarez and Ghulam Nabi Farehi; the deputy ministers of Information and Culture presented an appreciation certificate to Engineer Ehsanullah Bayat for his best efforts for strengthening the Afghan Music and Culture.

The chairman of Bayat Foundation Engineer Ehsanullah Bayat also honored the Information and Culture Ministry for its supports to the freedom of speech.

The Ariana Radio & Television Network (ATN) has always organized similar events in United States of America, Holland and Germany to support and appreciate the Afghan Artists.

ATN has been struggling since many years to strengthen the Afghan music and has organized music festivals, concerts and other related shows in Afghanistan and also outside the country.

This time ATN organized the largest music festival of Afghan Arts in Dubai city where hundreds of Afghan artist and musician participated. The music festival was aimed to appreciate the Afghan stars and also represent the Afghan culture.
