The Kandahar Governor, who has been accused of cooperating with a fake senator, again rejected demands to appear before the Senate House. This provoked the anger of the senators, who called for his dismissal.
The Mishrano Jirga, upper House of the Parliament, in an official letter has demanded the President Karzai to dismiss the Governor of Kandahar Toryalai Weesa from his post. Weesa was called twice to appear before the House but he didn’t.
A number of senators accuse the Kandahar’s Governor of treason for providing sensitive information to a man, posting as a senator, who they describe as a spy.
Reports say that last month a man named Asif Sarhadi, posing as a senator from Logar province, met with the Governor of Kandahar. The man (Sarhadi) had requested help from the Governor to help him visit some sensitive local departments including National Directorate of Security office. He did visit the offices after receiving help setting up appointments.
