Security Measures tighten on Eid days

The Kabul Chief of Police advised the public that the city’s security measures would become stricter during the Eid days in order to ensure the best protection possible for Kabul residents during this time of celebration.

Kabul residents and people entering Kabul will find tighter than normal security measures entering and exiting the city, with an increase in patrols and checkpoints as well.

Officials at Kabul Police Headquarters have said that especially on Eid Days they would be serving 24 hours, but peoples’ cooperation in indentifying destructive individuals will be vital to everyone’s safety.

Mohammad Ayub Salangi added that there is no specific threat on these days of Eid, but still Kabul Police will be gathered on main venues of the city 24 hours in order to reduce the possibility of harm.

Officials of the Kabul Police stated that there have been special security measures all over the city for the past one week.  The Asmayee Zone 101 Commander urged residents of Kabul City to fully cooperate with police in sustaining security.

The Kabul Chief of Police informed members of the public that there would continue to be heightened security measures in Kabul city during Eid Days, saying that during the past week armed insurgents were arrested on charges of plotting suicide attacks and targeting the national parliament as well as the residence of Second Deputy of the President, Mohammad Karim Khalili.
