Scabis disease outbreaks in Balkh prison

Balkh police official report about the spreading of Scabis, a sort of contagious diseases in Mazar-e-Sharif central prison, said.

“With the arrival of summer, a scout disease by the name Scabis or body irradiating spreads inside the Mazar-e-Sharif prison and dozens of the prisoners are infected”, The head of Balkh Police Headquarter, Abdul Razaq Qadiri said.

The Scabis, is a contagious disease and cause intense itching in the human body.

On the other hand, the Mr. Qadiri said, “the main problem of the prisoners in the Mazar-e-Sharif prison is insufficient residential place”. The Mazar-e-Sharif prison will be expanded in near future, he added.

Meanwhile, a number of the prisoners expressed concerns over the spreading of the Scabis disease in the prison and called government to provide proper place for prisoners.

There is a health clinic in Mazar-e-Sharif prison, to care the prisoners. “The disease has recently spread among the prisoners and has infected dozens of them”.

The prison has limited and improper residential place for the prisoners. If government officials do not take immediate measures to spread the prison building, the prisoners may face more problems during summer.
