Russia is ready to expand political & security cooperation

Russian President “Dmitry Medvedev” met President Karzai and said: “Russia wants to cooperate with Afghanistan in political and economical sectors.
President Karzai has welcomed the remarks of Russian President. Russian President (Dmitry Medvedev) met president Karzai in quartet summit meetings of Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. While Mr. Medvedev did not specify how Russia wants to have a political dialogue and security cooperation with Afghanistan but said: “We are ready to expand political dialogues and want to help Afghanistan in political, economical and security sectors”.
Russian President has said that: Regional situations should be related to local governments and regional countries also have to cooperate in these sectors. President Karzai also stressed upon expansion of political cooperation and said:
Afghanistan is satisfied of its relations with Russia. Meanwhile President Karzai met President of Pakistan (Asif Ali Zardari) and President of Tajikistan (Imam Ali Rehman) in quartet summit meetings between Russia, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Renovation process and economical cooperation were discussed between the presidents of Tajikistan and Afghanistan and President of Tajikistan also told about the completion of extensions of Power lines. Pakistani President in his meeting with Afghan President stressed upon the intensification of fight against terrorism and peace process in Afghanistan
