Russia concerns about U.S long-term presence in Afghanistan

Russia concerning about U.S recent policies in Afghanistan, asked for more US policy details especially about establishment of military bases in Afghanistan.
Russian foreign affairs minister Sergey Lavrov, in a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart in Moscow said that Washington on one hand has announced about withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan by the end of year 2014 while on the other hand they are planning to establish new military bases in Afghanistan.
The withdrawal of U.S forces from Afghanistan and setting up military bases are two opposite issues and Russia would like U.S explanation in this regard, Mr. Lavrov said.
The superpowers and regional countries must respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan foreign minister said.
The long-term strategic agreement between U.S and Afghanistan is the bilateral issue between two countries and we expect Afghan and Asian countries’ interest in every agreement.
While a number experts calling Moscow statements in favor of Russia say that Russia wants to prevent economic growth in Afghanistan.
These Moscow statements comes as more than two thousand representatives from all over Afghanistan participated in Loya Jirga and backed the US pact.
