Qatar talks never beneficial for Afghans: Noor

The peace talks with the armed oppositions should be mediated by the Parliamentarians as the Peace Council was unable alone to identify the friends and enemies of Afghanistan, Balkh Governor Atta Muhammad Noor said on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering of Parliamentarians in Mazar-i-Sharif, the Governor Atta Muhammad Noor said, the peace talks in Qatar were never in the benefit of the people of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile the participants, the Wolesi Jirga members, criticized the government’s performance towards the people, saying the major cause of the insecurity in Afghanistan was interfere of intelligence agencies of neighboring countries.
Afghan-US Strategic cooperation agreement, failure in the implementation of commitments of international community at Second Bonn Conference and establishment of permanent US bases in Afghanistan were the discussing issues in the meeting.
The Governor of Balkh was awarded appreciation letter by the Wolesi Jirga in recognition of his services for the development of the province.
The opening of a political office for Taliban at Qatar has been discussing in various political gatherings of Afghanistan, the officials demand these negotiations to be led by the Afghans but this time an Afghan official stress on the role of parliamentarians in these dialogues.
