President Karzai traveling to Japan today

President Karzai will arrive in Tokyo, Japan late tonight to attend the International Tokyo Summit.
Representatives from 70 countries plus the United Nations will attend the Tokyo Summit beginning Sunday, 08/July/2012.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Finance from Afghanistan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs from Japan will lead the sessions.
President Karzai’s media advisor reported that President Karzai will visit Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihito Noda as well as Japan’s foreign minister, the United Nation Secretary General, the German foreign minister, and the French foreign minister in separate meetings while he is in Japan.
The purpose of the Tokyo Summit is for countries to unitedly pledge financial support for the continuing reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
