Pakistan supports Afghan peace process: Khar

Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar in a one-day visit to Kabul while meeting the President Karzai in the Presidential palace said she has brought the peace message to Afghanistan and the purpose of her visit is to strengthen the bilateral relations.
“Pakistan can play an effective role in the peace process of Afghanistan. Both the countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) should take practical steps to achieve peace and stability” said the Afghan President Hamid Karzai
After meeting with President Karzai, Hina Rabbani Khar in a joint press conference with her counterpart Zulmai Rassoul said “Pakistan had never hidden objectives in Afghanistan. Pakistan has always been looking for a stable and independent Afghanistan in their neighborhood.”
“Combating terrorism and extremism, is the common interests for the prosperity of future generations of both countries and only honesty and joint efforts can help both countries for achieving peace and stability in the region” said Afghan Foreign Minister Zulmai Rassoul.
This was the first visit of any senior official of Pakistan after four months of tensed relations between Kabul and Islamabad which was created after the assassination of ex-chairman of Afghan Supreme Peace Council Professor Burhanuddin Rabbani.
