Oil reserves have increased: Trade Ministry

During the next six months the government reserves of oil and petroleum should increase to 210,000 tons in the country, Trade Ministry officials said.
If the Finance Ministry doesn’t provide the pledged amount of money, the Ministry of Commerce and Industries won’t have sufficient reserves of petroleum for the country.
“Efforts have commenced to increase the strategic oil reserves by the Commerce Department and soon the reserves of petroleum and liquefied gas will reach to 210,000 tons,” said Faridullah Sherzai, chief of petroleum department of the Trade Ministry.
Mr. Sherzai said if the state monopolizes oil imports, the import of low quality oil will cause increased air pollution. He once again asked the government to review the current market system in the country.
