They have considered to increases Security shells in the Helmand border with Pakistan, local officials said.

Helmand Governor Muhammad Gulab Mangal in a press conference on Monday said they have considered building new military constructions in the Helmand border with Pakistan.

However, for now the border police are provided adequate facilities in Deshaw and Khansheen districts but still the local police have many problems due to lack of proper buildings, he added.

Mr. Mangal says these areas have been surveyed via helicopter and five locations have been considered for a new shell that will be constructed soon.

“Our goal is to establish new buildings across the border for border police and security forces. Throughout the history there have been such facilities to protect the boundaries and with these new military facilities, we would be able to protect our borders, Helmand Governor added.”

Helmand is one of the major provinces of Afghanistan having 162 km border with Pakistan. Common border with Pakistan has always been the concern of the Afghan and international security because the insurgents use this border easily for their traffic as there is no tight control over this border.
