NDS detain the chief prosecutor of Faryab appellate court

National security officials arrested Mr. Habibullah Waseq, the chief prosecutor of Faryab appellate court on Wednesday evening.
In a telephone conversation with ATN, Prosecutor Abdul Moqeem “Moqeem”, the chief prosecutor of Faryab province, confirmed the detention of Mr. Waseq. “Mr. Waseq is accused of corruption and bribery,” he added.
Mr. Hafizullah Hafiz, chief inspector of the Attorney General office, quoted the panel of the inspection department in Faryab province, who said, “The required principles regarding detention were not observed in the detention of the chief prosecutor of Faryab province.”
Faryab provincial and security officials refused to provide any information regarding the detention of Mr. Waseq.
Afghanistan’s Attorney General Inspection team had also arrested the head of first district security police of Maimana City last week. He has been arrested and sent to general prison for neglecting his duties regarding thievery from jewelry shops in the city.
