Nangarhar Appellant Court in an open session sentenced a man for sixteen years imprisonment for murdering his wife.
The man named Ali Muhammad was accused of murdering his wife a few months ago. Mr. Muhammad suspected his brother of having an illicit relationship with his wife though there wasn’t any evidence that was provided. Ali Muhammad was living in the Behsood District of eastern Nangarhar province.
His sentence of 16 years was handed down by the Nangarhar Appellant Court Judge Fazl Hadi Fazel.
Ali Muhammad, who has confessed to the crime, called the court decision unfair. On the other hand, the victim’s mother said, “The announced punishment for this man is not enough.”
Many sociologists believe that if the perpetrators of violence against women are punished for their actions, this can be effective in reducing violence against women.
