Kunar residents ready to answer missile attacks

The residents of eastern Kunar province demand the government to follow a reciprocal, adversarial response to the rocket fires from Pakistan as the diplomatic efforts have failed to halt the foreign attacks.
These demands came a day after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the diplomatic efforts remained fruitless to stop missile attacks from Pakistan on the border areas of Afghanistan.
Now the Kunar residents say the continuation of missile attacks are intolerable, and ask the government to show a rapid and serious action. They say they are ready to stand side by side with the security forces to defend their soil.
The cross-border missile attacks have continued for the last year and despite many protests by the residents and government of Afghanistan, still the incursion continues. So far, hundreds of residents have evacuated the area, and a number of families have suffered huge damages.
Over the past 24 hours, Pakistan has slammed 64 rockets into Dangam, Nari and Sarkano districts of Kunar province, governor of Kunar Syed Fazlullah Wahidi said.
He added the attacks didn’t cause causalities but left huge financial losses.
Many experts say weak reaction of the government has resulted in the continuation of rocket attacks from Pakistan.
They suggest the government must put pressure on Pakistan through the international community.
