The major opposition parties on Monday said President Karzai should resign if holding the elections ahead of its timetable in order to save the country from crisis.
The National Coalition of Afghanistan and the Afghan National Front in a gathering on Monday said early or delay in holding of the Presidential elections was contrary to the constitution of Afghanistan.
The opposition parties in a statement said they would agree with early elections if President Karzai stepped to resign in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution.
Stressing the reform in the structure of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), the opposition parties announced soon they would present a draft for transparency in the elections and in the structure and authorities of IEC.
These reactions come as recently President Karzai told about the possibility of the early Presidential Elections in the country.
IEC has already presented a five-year strategic plan for the review and consultation to the Parliament, political parties and civil society organizations.
According to the Constitution of Afghanistan, the next Presidential election is due to be held in 2014.
