John Allen apologizes for Quran desecration

Wed Feb 22, 3:18 pm

The NATO General Commander in Afghanistan John Allen apologized for the allegedly desecration of the Holy Quran by the NATO forces in Bagram airfield and ordered for full investigations.

Hundreds of people protested angrily as they denounced the alleged burning of Holy Quran in Bagram airbase and demanded the trial of the perpetrators of the case and also asked for the withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan.

The protesters claim that the NATO forces have desecrated the Islamic sanctities by burning some materials of Islamic Holy Quran.

“These Forces have disposed many Islamic books including Quran but it was not intentional” John Allen said.

The NATO Commander while apologizing over the improper and unintentional disposal of the Islamic books promised to prevent such actions in future.  He emphasized that a full investigation would occur to determine why this unauthorized desecration had been allowed to happen and said that he was truly sorry that it had happened and that it would not happen again.
