Iran desires more investment in Afghanistan: Iranian investors

A senior delegation of Iranian officials and investors that has visited to Kabul, for formal talks with Afghan officials and review the investment opportunities, said Iran wants to have a contribution to the sectors of industry, agriculture and construction in Afghanistan.
Iranian investors consider Afghanistan a better place for investment in the sectors of industry, agriculture and construction. They are ready in case of agreement with Afghan authorities to invest in upper mentioned sectors.
Meanwhile Afghan officials said Afghanistan waits for investments by large foreign countries. Iranian investments in Afghanistan is to the benefit of both countries and should be done soon, said Mutasel Komaki Deputy Minister of Commerce.
These steps for bilateral economic relations came after recent efforts to improve economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Afghanistan has been the shortest path for Iran to transfer energy to the Central Asia and Iran can also help Afghanistan through its seaports to transport Afghan goods from abroad.
Based on Iranian willingness for investment in Afghanistan; both the counties agreed for Herat Cement Plant that can produce annually one million tons of cement.
