Emergency assistance from the Bayat Foundation helped more than 100 families in Adalat, a village in the northern section of Mazar-e Sharif.
The assistance included food items, winter clothes, shoes and blankets, which were distributed to returnees from neighboring countries, officials said.
The chairman of the Bayat Foundation, Senator Ehsanullah Bayat, visited with a number of these returned migrants. During his visit he promised to help solve other problems of these people, including assisting with clean drinking water and construction of a mosque.
The aid recipients expressed gratitude for the help of the Bayat Foundation and expressed hope that other charitable institutions may assist in the future.
Despite the heavy snows, a convoy of emergency aid from the Bayat Foundation has arrived in northern Afghanistan where they distributed food stuff, warm clothes and other life necessities to a number of deserving families of northern Takhar, Badakhshan, Faryab, Jawzjan, Balkh and Baghlan provinces.
