The process of transferring security responsibilities is not conducive in Ghazni province.
Provincial Council of Ghazni province said in a statement that in the current situation, Afghan security forces are not able to take on this responsibility and if this process implemented the security situation will deteriorate in Ghazni province.
Contrary to these views, Ghazni security officials say that they are fully prepared to take over Security responsibilities.
Probably, Ghazni province would also be among the areas that will be handed over to Afghan security forces in the second phase of security transition, reported by Mominzada ATN reporter.
A number of provincial MPs said that transferring security responsibilities to Afghan forces in the province will be possible at the time when attention paid towards quantity and quality of Afghan forces.
“I don’t think that in the current situation, Afghan forces would be able to take the security responsibilities of Ghazni Province”, said Chief of Ghazni provincial council Hameedullah Noroz.
On the other hand, Ghazni Police Chief Zaror Zahid declaring security situation suitable for security transition said that Afghan forces are ready to take on this responsibility.
Although the second phase of security transition has not been officially announced but various statements are reported in this regard.
While Wolesi Jirga’s defense commission and all other its members have already demanded that the process of security transition should be implemented in the unsafe areas of Afghanistan.
