Afghan Laborers attacked in Khost at NATO base

Taliban insurgents threw hand grenade and opened fire on Khost residents while they were at a Mosque performing their morning prayers.
The laborers have followed the same ritual for many months by performing prayers at the Mosque in the early morning before going onto the NATO base, but on August 15th the labors were targeted by insurgents who threw two hand grenades and the opened fire on them while they were praying.
According to the received report one of the workers died and two were seriously injured in the attack.
The Taliban claimed responsibility, saying that they targeted and killed foreign soldiers and their interpreter. ISAF disputed the claim.
In a separate report from ISAF in Khost, four insurgents were killed while they are shooting at aircraft that were flying overhead.
The ISAF report also said that ISAF arrested four suspected insurgents in a joint operation with Afghan security forces in Khost city.
In another incident at Yousaf Khail District of Khost Province, four children were killed by an IED. Another was injured. Also, a rocket hit a home, injuring four children and one woman.
