$ 7 billion required for electrification projects: Breshna Power Company

The Finance Ministry in its recent reports has said that the Breshna Power Company is among the departments that has used least of their development budgets in last fiscal year.

The chief of Breshna Power Company Abdul Razzaq Samadi confirmed the reports and said electrification programs require more time therefore; the Company has been unable so far to utilize their largest development budget.

He said by the two large contracts that were recently signed, 40 % of Breshna development budget will be utilized till the end of this year.

“Seven billion dollars are needed to develop and enhance the electrification projects in Afghanistan that So far, about $ 2 billion have been received from the Asian Development Bank and other donor countries” Mr. Samadi added.

According to the statistics; the Breshna Power Company has about one million subscribers but it’s said that by having these much supports, still this company has failed to distribute electricity to all parts of Kabul City.
