50 insurgents killed, 20 detained in Northern Afghanistan

At least 50 armed insurgents were killed and 20 others detained during a military operation in northern Afghanistan.
Gen. Baba Jan; the Commander of 303 Pamir corps said, “The detainees include some local Taliban commanders”.
According to Gen. Baba Jan, armed insurgents suffered these casualties in Takhar, Baghlan, Sir-a- Pul, Faryab and Badakhshan province. 8 police officials are wounded in that operation, he added.
Security forces also seized various mines, weapons, mortars and suicide jackets during the military operation in northern Afghanistan.
The operation was launched to prevent the insurgents’ mobility during the summer.
Meanwhile, 2 human trafficking gangs, who were involved in criminal offenses in northern Afghanistan, were also detained during the operation.
Security forces reported continuous joint and independent military operations in north Afghanistan as foreign forces expressed concerns about the anticipated activities of insurgents during the coming summer months.
