31 US-Special Forces killed in Syed Abad District

At least 31 US Special Forces and seven Afghan Security Forces were killed in a Chinook helicopter crash in Wardak Province on Friday night. Afghan President’s office said in a statement: President Karzai expressed condolence over this deadly incident. News officials said: President Karzai expressed his sympathy with the families of US Special Forces
Shahidullah Shahid, spokesman of Wardak’s Governor said: The Chinook helicopter was crashed during an anti-Taliban operation in Syed abad district of Maidan Wardak province but he didn’t mention the exact death toll.
District Governor of Syed Abad of Wardak Province said to news channel that: The helicopter of US Special Forces was crashed in Tangi region of this province.
NATO press office also confirmed the helicopter crash but didn’t mention the death toll. Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident and said:
At least 8 Taliban militants were killed last night in a NTAO operation in Tangi region of Wardak Province. A White House official without mentioning his name said:
More than 20 US Special Forces who were involved in the operation against Osama Bin Laden were killed in Chinook Helicopter crash.
