Thu Sep 20, 3:25 pm

The first Hajji Group transferred to Baitullah Sharif from Kabul and Balkh Province on Wednesday 19 September.

Officials in the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said, “Hajjis’ transfers will be handled in a transparent way and 30000 thousand hajjis will be sent to Saudi Arabia for Hajj in another month.”

According to officials in the Ministry of Transportation and Aviation, Wednesday 19 September two flights transferred almost 400 hajjis.

The Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation Deputy declared, “In the past few years Hajji faced lots of problem as tourist companies were in charge of transferring hajji to Saudi Arabia. This time it was decided the task should be given to only one local airline.”

Officials of the ministry spoke about the needed preparations, saying, “Hajjis will be transferred from Kabul, Herat, Balkh and Kandahar Airports.”

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, 30,000 Hajjis will be sent to Saudi Arabia from Afghanistan this year.

Last year 700 Hajjis who had made payments were unable to make it to Saudi Arabia for Hajj due transfer difficulties.  The Ministry of Hajj and Religious affairs promised to give those who made payments but missed the trip last year the first opportunity this year.
