8 killed, over 100 injured in Kabul gas explosions, massive fire

At least 8 people have been killed and more than 100 others injured after gas explosions occurred in Paktia Kot area in eastern part of city Kabul on Wednesday.
According to the reports, the incident took place around 4:30pm when gas tanks exploded inside a gas cache company, erupting into a massive fire at the scene.
Most of the victims are said to be workers in the vicinity of the explosion and fire.
The cause of the incident is not yet clear, but the security officials say huge damages have occurred to the people living near the location of the incident.
According to Public Health Minister Dr. Suraya Daleel, the massive fire has left 8 dead and more than 100 others injured, mostly in critical conditions. She said the numbers they will treat for burn wounds will likely increase.
Health officials have reported that the wounded people have been shifted to Esteqlal and Wazir Akbar Khan Hospitals. Victims are being treated for 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
