2 high-ranking security officials killed in Takhar

During the armed clashes between the security forces and Taliban militants, about two security officials including a militant were killed in Takhar province, officials said.
The clashes occurred Sunday evening in Aaq Masjid area in Taloqan, the capital of northern Takhar province, local authorities said.
According to the officials, one of the militants opened gunfire at the security forces in result the district police chief Abdul Baseer and the NDS employee Nazar Muhammad were killed. One militant killed, one detained and the other one succeeded to escape, they added.
Earlier on Saturday a suicide bomber along with a large amount of explosives was arrested near Taloqan Hospital.
The security officials said the search operation has been started Sunday morning in this regard.
