12 Taliban militants renounce violence in Konar

Following the efforts of National Directorate of Security (NDS), a group of twelve armed Taliban militants laid down their weapons and joined the peace process in wotha-Poor district, Konar Governor Fazlullah Wahidi said.
The group leader Najibullah said “they have laid down their weapons because they have realized that mostly civilians were being killed in the wars but in return the foreigners were being benefited.”
While, the Taliban spokesman in a statement has said that these militants were inactive and were not associated with them.
