1 killed 6 others wounded in Jalalabad Protests

Following the protests against the desecration of the Holy Quran by foreign forces, Nangahar residents also protested against the desecration of Holy Quran by the foreign troops in Bagram Airbase, on Wednesday.
Nangahar residents launched protests in Jalalabad city, Hesarak and Kheeva districts on Wednesday. In the morning, the demonstrators demanded punishment of the perpetrators in this case and ended the protest without any violence. However, protestors turned to violence in the afternoon.
One of the protesters died and 6 others were wounded during the protest. Later the protesters blocked roads and also broke the glass of some the buildings.
The protest extended to Jalalabad Airport, where the protesters burned ISAF troop’s oil tanker. The fire brigadiers failed to turn off that fire till yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, the protesters claimed that security forces openly fired on them in front of the airport.
According to other reports, hundreds of the residents of Manogai district of Eastern Kunar Province have launched peaceful demonstrations against the desecration of the Holy Quran.
