Nine Afghan Policemen Killed in Taliban’s Ambush in Ghazni

At least nine Afghan policemen were killed when the Taliban militants attacked several check posts in central Ghazni province on Friday night, local officials said.

Two other policemen were injured in the attack which took place in Khashik and Shahbaz villages of Ghazni City,  said Mohammad Zaman Khostai, the Provincial Police Chief.

According Khostai, 13 Taliban militants were killed and 11 more were wounded, following hours of clashes with Afghan security forces in the areas.

The incident comes about two weeks after the Taliban’s suicide car bomb attack at the entrance of the Andar district administration in the province that killed over 30 people, mostly policemen.
