NDS Seizes Trailer with 16 Tonnes of Explosives in Kabul City

Afghan intelligence operatives have seized a trailer with 16,500 kilograms of explosives in capital Kabul, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement Saturday.

The trailer was discovered in Police District 9 of the City, the NDS statement said.

 “The explosives were placed in bags of 50 kgs each and were covered with chicken feeding seeds,” the statement said.

The material would have been used in making suicide vests and conducting terror acts in the city, it added. 

According to the NDS statement, the vehicle carried Pakistani registration plate and the explosives were loaded  in the vehicle in Pakistan’s Mardan. 

 Five people were arrested in connection with the incident. The detainees were identified as Nasir Ahmad, Aziz Ahmad, Hazrat Omar, Sediqullah and Omar.
