Muhammad Aman Hamimi, Ghazni governor says that nearly twelve Taliban fighters were killed during the clashed with Afghan forces.

Hamimi has assured people that no danger will threaten Ghazni residents; calling the inhabitants to not abandon their homes.

However, Ghazni residents spend Monday with a huge fear and all markets of the city were blocked.

The battles will be a critical test for Afghan forces, who have had a difficult summer. Meanwhile, spokesman of the interior ministry noted that security challenges still threaten Ghazni and currently clashes are ongoing between Afghan security forces and the armed Taliban.

Ghazni governor has also assured people that hundreds of security forces have reached to Ghazni to take serious security measures.

Major battles between Afghanistan security forces and other insurgent groups are ongoing in at least 20 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces.

In recent months, security resources have been stretched thin by concerted insurgent assaults in Afghanistan’s northern provinces.
