More authority to US Troops will remove Daesh, Al-Qaida in Nangarhar

Since President Barack Obama gave counterterrorism authority to U.S. forces in Afghanistan in January to strike the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant there, the U.S. and Afghan forces partnered mission has significantly cut enemy-held territory and has reduced the number of enemy fighters by nearly half, the commander of the Resolute Supports mission and U.S. Forces Afghanistan told reporters today.

In a news conference via Skype with Pentagon reporters – his first since taking command in March — Army Gen. John W. Nicholson said from the Afghan capital of Kabul that ISIL-Khorasan, the terrorist organization’s regional affiliate in Afghanistan has seen a territory reduction from 10 districts in southern Nangarhar to parts of three or four since the start of the authority.

US -NATO Gen John Nicholson has warned IS Daesh and Al-Qaida terrorist groups that they will be removed completely from Nangarhar province, insisting that US is pushing through to cut down the capabilities of the terrorists to limit their activities.

Meanwhile officials in Afghanistan Defense Ministry has confirmed that the Tayyeba militants leader Hafiz Mohammad Saied was leading the Daesh activities in Afghanistan, and Pakistan should act for removing the following leader into their soil.

US NATO Gen, Mr. Nicholson said,” simultaneously we continue to support our Afghan military forces, we also try to overshadow the strength of both terrorist networks in Afghanistan, our supports will continue to enable Afghan security forces to tackle the issue by themselves.”

Earlier President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has ordered the Afghan security forces to demolish IS Daesh militants from Nangarhar.

Ministry of Defense Deputy Spokesman Mohammad Radmanish said,” Tayyeba militants leader Hafiz Saied who was managing the IS Daesh militants in Afghanistan, we demand Pakistan to target those terrorists groups into their soil.”

US Government has decided to remove IS Daesh militants from Afghanistan, and Afghan security forces during past several days has killed 300 IS Daesh militants and destroyed 20 safe houses of Daesh in Kot and Achin districts of Nangarhar province.

More than 800 Afghan refugees deported from Pakistan in two days

As many as 837 Afghan refugees have been forced to return to their country through Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings in the last two days, officials announced on Saturday.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement that 90 families comprising 468 people returned through Torkham crossing.

Another 67 families comprising 369 people returned through Spin Boldak crossing, it said.

The returnees have been introduced to international organizations to receive aid, and the Islamic Emirate has also paid 10,000 Afghanis to each family.

Pakistani government launched the second phase of deporting illegal refugees five days ago.

Iran executes four Afghan prisoners

Iran executed four Afghan prisoners in Vakliabad Prison in Mashhad on Thursday morning, a human rights group reported.

Haalvsh said that the individuals had been arrested in 1398 over drug-related charges and then sentenced to death by the court.

This organization announced the names of the executed prisoners as Zaman Taheri, Salam Taheri, Gholam Qadir Samani and Ebrahim Noorzahi.

Zaman Taheri and Salam Taheri were brothers.

Iranian officials have not commented about the matter so far.

Roof collapse kills two in Helmand

Two people were killed after roof of their house collapsed in southern Helmand province on Friday night, officials said.

Abdul Bari Rashid, head of information and culture in Helmand, told Ariana News that the incident occurred in Tajkan village of Gershak district due to heavy rain.

According to him, the dead include a woman and a child. A man was injured in the incident.

This comes as 10 people have died and six others have been injured as a result of the floods in Helmand province in the last one week.
