“The security forces have tactically retreated about one kilometer from the center of the district,” said provincial police chief Tooryalay Abdyani.
He emphasized that Afghan forces are busy planning to retake the area.
Two security personnel were confirmed killed and three others wounded in clashes with the militants.
The official claimed that the insurgents were firing missiles over the district; therefore, the security forces retreated to avoid civilian causalities.
This comes as the governmental forces managed to recapture the strategic district of Jani Khail around five days ago after heavy fighting which left dozens of the militants dead or injured.
