Afghan minister of economy in the first Scoping Study of Construction Sector Transparency Initiative has said that insecurity, lack of enough capacity, shortage of sources are the main challenges against monitoring and implementation of construction projects.
Abdul Satar Murad, minister of economy noted that the procurement reforms and capacity development in the construction sector is still in its infancy and there is a strong need to grow it.
“The procurement reforms and capacity development need to grow. Parallel structures of donors and delay in payment of construction projects and monitoring and evaluation carried out by various organizations are still ineffectively carry out,” said Abdul Satar Murad, minister of economy.
Meanwhile, chairman of the Construction Companies Union calls for simplifying the process of procuring construction projects by the government.
“The law that implement on construction sector should be the same on government too,” said Naeem Yasin.
According to statistics, the global value of construction projects till 2025 will be increased by 15 trillion.
